It Takes Time.

Spent the past weekend on Catalina Island. Well, I guess around the island; I was diving. How about, I slept on the island and spent the days in the water surrounding it. Didn’t see anything exciting but I wouldn’t trade a day of diving for any other typical day, even if it is just kelp beds and small schools of fish. My fingers are finally starting to fully blister. What a damn pain in the ass! Especially trying to get my gear on and off without getting the blisters too wet lest they break prematurely. I’m glad the pain has subsided but I do look forward to the day I can wash my hair using all my fingers again. Stupid. But hey, I do have a huge bottle of Vicodin. I wonder what the street value is. From time to time I still find little balls of fur. Funny how perspective changes an attitude. I don’t mind them anymore. Coming home after work isn’t the same anymore. Forty clicking nails heard through the front door would be such a sweet sound. I’ve got too many vacation hours. So, I’m going to take a week off just to bum around. It’ll be nice. Next year will be the first that I get three weeks. I’ll have plenty for Europe still. I don’t think I want to spend another year not taking a decent vacation. There’s too much out there to see. Still, spending two weeks overseas next year will almost make up for my sacrifice this year. Tonight is the follow-up to last month’s event. It should be good. Wish I had more time to devote to it though. Oh well, so much I want to do – never enough time. Maybe someday I’ll write about it, when I have the time. Circles. Vicious circles.
